Candleholders by Dorothy Thorpe
These rare fabulous modernist/mid-century candleholders were designed by the American designer Dorothy Thorpe. She began her designing career in the 1930s and produced amazing glassware among other things. These candleholders are made from lucite and gold plated metal. They are known as 'pretzel' candleholders. The lucite shows a bit of natural aging as they all seem to do. One holder has a bit of wear too. They are not a set as they are not identical, one is slightly smaller than the other (different hand made batch?) But they are sold together. Highly collectable pieces, which when holding lit candles look amazing and luxurious.

19cm approx. width
