Studio Pottery Blue Bowl by Stephanie Kalan, 1960s/70s
This beautiful little bowl is a fabulous example of the ceramicist Stephanie Kalan's work. From the early 1960s, Stephanie worked from the Newport Pottery, which she set up with her partner Anton Kalan. As a pioneer in her field, she researched, investigated, and experimented with glazes and clay over many years. Her expertise and knowledge of crystalline glazes were second to none. Her work is held in the collections of the V&A Museum, among other places. This little bowl has a rich combination of blue glazes and an undulating dark edge. It is signed and in very good condition.
